Country South boys help Canterbury to win U19s

The Canterbury Under 19s have won the National tournament held at Lincoln over the last 10 days. The Canterbury team were unbeaten in their 8 games. Three Country South boys played their part in these performances. Henry Shipley picked up wickets with good pace throughout, including an important 2/12 against Auckland. Harry Chamberlain smashed  156* against Central Districts. Hugh Paterson shared in 5 opening stands of more than 50 including a 10 wicket win against Northern Districts when 106 were required. These boys played all of their primary cricket in the Country South region!

SIPT Day 4

After two days of rain the team had a close fought first innings win over this year's hosts Southland Country.

Southland Country 120 (G Prain 2/25, T Burt 2/7, L Mason 2/21J Walker 2/10) lost to Canterbury Country 127/7 (J Frew 20) on the first innings.

They play their last game on Friday against Nelson and will be looking for an outright win to win the tournament.
