Section 2 finished with a tense final with Lincoln at home to Weedons Renegades. Lincoln batted first and made 115, mainly thanks to contributions from Robson Harkers and Callum Vallance. Weedons were under constant pressure with good bowling and fielding before being dismissed for 74 for Lincoln to retain the Kevin O’Connell Cup. The Section 2b Final was a low scoring win by Darfield (79/4) over Weedons Crusaders (38). The section 1 semis were close affairs. Runs were hard to come by at Lincoln where the home team struggled through to 108 largely thanks to Brett Gillans 32 in the face of good bowling from Tim Bridgman and Carlito Shalfoon and the rest of the attack. Weedons paced their chase well with Mark Woolford getting 20. A rash of run outs late in the innings saw the Weedons dismissed in the 29^th over for 97. At Weedons the home team (Dragons) made 169 with good contributions from Jack Ryder, Jonty Fleming, Matt Lane and Liam Mason. Darfield put in a great chase with Toby Kars and Jesse Frew keeping them in the hunt but ultimately fell short at 150/6. Weedons Dragons will host Lincoln in the Ken Wadsworth Cup final this Saturday.
